Loan of computer equipment to students
To support students in their learning, each student will receive a computer provided by the school at the beginning of the school year. This tool will be essential throughout their school years with us, so it’s crucial that it is carefully cared for.
Here are a few important points to note:
Student responsibility: The student is responsible for the safe and proper use and maintenance of his or her computer. It’s important to keep the equipment in good working order to avoid any inconvenience.
Technical support: A dedicated and efficient team of computer technicians is available at the school to assist students when needed. They are on hand to help with day-to-day use and to resolve any technical problems during school hours.
It is also possible for the student to borrow headphones and a graphic calculator (if required in the student’s math and science courses) from the IT desk. To consult the liability contract concerning the use of the computer and any other loaned equipment, please click here.
We are counting on your cooperation to ensure that your child takes full advantage of this valuable tool, while respecting the established rules.

Uniforms
We’re in the transition year towards a new uniform for the 2025-2026 year, so your child can (for the current year) wear the former official hoodie and polo shirt if it still fits… or simply respect the dress code implemented for the current year, as we informed you last year. Here’s a reminder:
Stocks of uniforms are still available (at liquidation prices) from our supplier Unimage, and you’ll be able to continue ordering them, subject to size and availability of remaining clothing items. What’s more, the supplier will also be able to offer logo-free clothing. If there’s no size available for your child, parents may purchase items in the stores of their choice, bearing in mind that the following points must be respected:
- Short and long-sleeved polos/tops will be accepted; a collar is not required;
- Only plain polos/tops will be accepted; NO design/image or writing must appear on the items;
- Hoodies (or crew necks) will be accepted as long as NO design/image or writing appear on the front or on the back
To help guide you, here are the current colours from our supplier: link
For Elementary students, BLUE OR GRAY polo/tops will be accepted. Hoodies must be blue.
Here is the code if your order online from our supplier: EVP55
For High School students, RED OR BLACK polos/tops will be accepted. Hoodies must be black.
Here is the code if you order online from our supplier: EVS55
If you go to our supplier in-store, you may bring this purchase order with you. Here is the link.
4- Themed “hoodies” will no longer be considered part of the school uniform and will not be accepted in class next year. Therefore, hoodies with labels such as “graduate” “actor”, “sports team” etc., may be worn, but only outside of school hours and off school property, or with the permission from the administration for special events or exceptional situations.
Office of the student protector
Who is the Vanguard School complaint procedure for?
Response: To any person (student or parent) who, after having attempted to resolve a dispute with the principal, feels that they are not satisfied or that the problem persists despite the steps taken.
The purpose of this procedure is to provide guidelines for Vanguard School to follow and enforce in the handling of complaints from students or their parents. The purpose of this procedure is to ensure that any complaint (covered by this procedure) is dealt with effectively, diligently, impartially, and objectively, in a fair manner, and with respect for the rights of all persons involved in the complaint.
Steps to follow in dealing with a problematic situation
Step 1: Always contact the person with whom you have a dispute to understand the situation and work with them to find solutions if necessary (call or email).
Step 2: If the complainant is still dissatisfied or if the situation persists, refer the problematic situation to the principal of the sector to which the student belongs. Allow 5 working days for this to happen.
Step 3: If the complainant is still dissatisfied or if the situation persists, fill out the complaint form, which the general administration will process within 5 working days.
Step 4: If there is still dissatisfaction on the part of the complainant or if the situation persists, it is possible to submit a request for a complaint review to the National Student Ombudsman as follows:
- Through the Government website: Quebec.ca/student rights
- By phone / texto : 1-833-420-5233
- By email: plaintes-pne@pne.gouv.qc.ca
