Teacher wins AQUOPS Star of the Year Award
Spotlight on Our Experts
Congratulations to teacher Nairy Kazandjian, winner of the AQUOPS Prix Étoile de l’année Award for her “Escaping the Classroom” project!
This innovative project, developed in collaboration with Sophie Giroux from CSS des Trois Lacs and LEARN collaborator Marc-Albert Paquette, offers students the opportunity to work in teams to design their own escape game. Incorporating recent advances in artificial intelligence, Nairy and her colleagues enriched this experience by adding a component on the ethical and responsible use of AI. They showed students how AI tools can not only stimulate their creativity, but also help them design their escape room.
Last year, this project was presented at the Sommet numérique en éducation, where the team attracted the attention of RÉCIT and LEARN Québec, who invited them to adapt this Learning and Evaluation Situation (LES) for students in French as a second language. This fruitful collaboration and the pedagogical innovation demonstrated by this project enabled the team to receive the Étoile de l’année Award, a distinction that recognizes the considerable impact of their initiative on student learning.
Well done, Nairy!
